At Funstation, we believe that fun can be a force for good.

Through our Play for Charity initiative, we partner with individuals and groups to help raise funds for causes that truly matter by donating our facilities so that every pound raised through tickets and activities goes directly to the chosen charity.

Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a very special group at Funstation and Laser Station Braehead, organised by Pete Maclennan as part of his inspiring fundraising challenge, Burpees for Babies.

Pete created this challenge in memory of his son Finn and his commitment is nothing short of extraordinary, starting with just two burpees and increasing the total by two every single day for six months. What begins as a modest effort quickly becomes a true test of endurance by building to an average of over 350 burpees per day in the final week and an incredible 32,580 burpees overall.

Through this challenge, Pete is raising funds for two remarkable Scottish charities that supported his family during an unimaginably difficult time:

Both organisations provide vital care, compassion and support to families coping with the loss of a child by offering services such as counselling, trauma therapy and safe spaces for healing and respite.

Amazing group of Fundraisers

Lights, Phasors, Action!

As part of our Play for Charity initiative, we were proud to donate our Laser Station laser tag arena for the event.

Pete’s group played back to back games, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a fantastic sense of community spirit to the arena, all in support of an incredibly meaningful cause.

Thanks to the generosity and participation of everyone involved, a further £375 was raised on the day, all of which will go directly towards Pete’s Burpees for Babies fundraising efforts.

Taking aim!

You can donate further and support on Pete's Burpees of Babies Fundraising Page. Every contribution helps support families navigating loss and ensures these incredible charities can continue their vital work.

Stories like Pete’s are a powerful reminder of why initiatives like Play for Charity exist. By coming together, even through something as simple as a day of fun and games, we can help make a meaningful difference.

If you are interested in hosting your own charity event with Funstation, we would love to hear from you, because together we can turn play into purpose.
