VIP day out at Xscape in Castleford

On Wednesday, 22nd August 2018, 6-year-old Bobby was treated to a full VIP day out at Xscape in Castleford, and was joined by his family.

The day was organised by Funstation to highlight the Tickets2Wishes initiative supported by the Bacta Charitable Trust, which raises funds for Rays of Sunshine,, a children's charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 years of age across the UK by granting their wishes, organising hospital activity and hosting large scale events.

Bobby’s wish of visiting Disneyland Paris was granted in April of this year by Rays of Sunshine, thanks to Funstation customers donating their prize tickets to Tickets2Wishes.

James Miller, MD of Funstation said "Funstation is all about family and friends having fun together, and by supporting Rays of Sunshine with Tickets2Wishes we can help other less fortunate families have a fun time too.” See Tickets2wishes.

In addition to enjoying Funstation, Bobby and his family enjoyed a jam-packed day of activities that Xscape has to offer including Volcano Falls Adventure Golf, Gravity, LaserZone, lunch at Pizza Express, Funstation, XD Theatre and a special viewing of the film Ant-Man & the Wasp at Cineworld.

Bobby’s mum said: “We had no idea we were going to have all these activities to do and thought we were just going to have some photos taken. Bobby is really excited and looking forward to the day ahead. Thank you very much for doing this for us.”

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added: “We’re so grateful to the tickets2Wishes campaign and Funstation for organising such a fun-filled day for Bobby and his family. The money raised by Funstation customers will enable us to fund magical wishes for brave and deserving children just like Bobby, for which we can’t be more thankful.”

General Manager, Jason Warren at Xscape Yorkshire, said: “The Centre and our activity partners were delighted to welcome Bobby and his family for a fun-fuelled day out. Tickets2Wishes is a great initiative, and one that Funstation have done a great job of running over the years.”
